Deedra Harrington, RN, MSN, DNP

Deedra Harrington is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and has proudly called the Acadiana region home for more than 35 years. With over 30 years of nursing experience, she is a dedicated healthcare leader, educator, and nurse with a passion for promoting health, wellness, and cardiovascular care.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette), her Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of South Alabama.

Throughout her career, Deedra has been committed to advancing patient care, nursing education, and community health. She served as a Professor and Director of the LHC Group ∙ Myers School of Nursing at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she helped prepare future generations of nurses and healthcare leaders.

Following her retirement from academia, Deedra has focused her efforts on helping individuals achieve optimal health and well-being through education, preventive care, lifestyle modification, and wellness-focused services.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Deedra enjoys spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, staying active through fitness and pickleball, and supporting initiatives that promote health and wellness throughout the Acadiana community.
